The Beautiful Garden Route

Fully escorted tour
Tour also available as self drive
Explore the Garden Route & meet the Meerkats and Elephants!
Imagine exploring the Mother City of South Africa, meandering your way along the Garden Route and its famous wine areas, exploring the southern hemisphere, having close and encounters with the dolphins and meerkats and Addo Elephant Park. All of this combined with excellent food and wine on a fully escorted tour. Let us show you the Garden Route!
It is in Cape Town that the Rainbow Nation really covers the spectrum. Between beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads, traditional dancers with painted faces performing in the streets, the smell of spicy Malay cooking and the taste of a well-made wine, this city will fill your senses, but we will show you more than the usual. We will not only take you up to Table Mountain, Boulders Beach, but also to African markets, for a gentle downhill walk to Cape Point and to an African restaurant for a meal with a drumming session.
In the winelands we will visit some of the top estates where we will not only have the opportunity to taste South African wine, but to have lunch under the wonderful ancient trees as well. After leaving this amazing part of South Africa we will follow the R62 where the ever changing colours of the majestic mountains, scenic passes, rivers, vineyards and orchards, will offer you not only a scenic drive, but tranquillity as well.
Oudtshoorn is very famous for its ostriches and Cango Caves, but we will not only visit these attractions, but you will have a close encounter with the lovely meerkats as well and in the evening we may want to explore the amazing wonders of the southern Hemispheres. We will also visit the Dreamcatcher community and their Streetkidz project and you may want to take part in a Cookup with Kamamma. This is your chance to share their recipes, stories, learn about their culture and taste their food.
Our journey to Knysna will follow a sharp narrow coastal belt of lakes, lagoons, deep gorges, ravines, rivers and streams, which run through luxuriant primeval forests filled with dense shrubbery and wild flowers, heath, creepers and ferns. For the next 3 days we will stay in Knysna where you may want to do some oyster tasting, cruise the lagoon and visit the art shops. Knysna is a natural paradise of lush indigenous forests, tranquil lakes and golden beaches adorns South Africa’s unspoilt southern coast. Nestling on the banks of a shimmering lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. Beaches, lakes, mountains and rivers provide endless opportunity for leisure and outdoor adventure. Within the town, craft shops, flea-markets and cozy cafe’s beckon with small-town charm and hospitality.
In Knysna you will have some time to relax, but we will also visit Plettenberg Bay. This coastal town remains tranquil and charming, hospitable and rather special. Here you will have some great close encounters with dolphins and during the breading season possibly with ‘The Whales’ (aug-nov). And moving away slightly from the sea, you will have the chance to explore an indigenous forest.
After having met the meerkats, ostriches and the baboons, it is now time to look for the bigger Game. In the Eastern Cape we will stay in a mountain lodge and we will visit Addo Elephant Park for several game drives.
Unfortunately after 14 days it will be time to return home, but we hope that we have given you A Real Taste of South Africa!
